Pride of Britain

February 19, 2020 by Jacqueline Rackham 2 Comments

Nathan Black & White

Last year I was contacted by a young man who wanted some promo shots done to help him advertise an annual  Ball he arranges to create awareness for his Charity.  Nathan was born with a bilateral cleft palate and to date has undergone 32 surgical procedures over his 23 years on this planet. He really is remarkable and the most exuberant selfless character.  He has such depth and determination its quite possible he was a working cocker spaniel in a previous life… He never stops, nose to the ground, charging around,  goal setting, challenging himself, breaking records but most importantly  helping others.

Quite rightly then he became a Pride of Britain winner.

007 Nathan

Here he is looking 007 style dashing in his DJ in preparation for the Ball held at The Avisford Park Hotel near Arundel.

This is again another example of his determination to change his shape physically. Training and dieting, rinse and repeat until he built this bod. He was bullied relentlessly at School but I somehow think those bullies might turn in the other direction now!

Nathan's Prize

And here he is collecting some of the prizes kindly donated by local jewellers L J Guess.

Nathan was and is an absolute delight to work with – even if he does despair at my jokes!

When Jeff met Jeff

Jeff meets Jeff

Meet Little Jeff, named after a wonderful man who over the last 12 years has helped us out extensively with jobs, repairs, renovations and extensions to our home.  He built up a wonderful relationship with our beloved spaniel Louis, as did we with him. Louis very sadly succumbed to Kidney disease  in August 2019 and it was Jeff who was there for us, and tasked with  his hardest job of all,  digging and laying him in his final resting place. In our opinion what better tribute could we give but to Christen little chops “Jeff” or “Little Jeff”as he gets called or  Jeffy, Jeff Jeff, Jeffy J and Jeffington, and other derivations when we discover another kitchen stool gnawed on!!!

Watching the two of them meet for the first time had us all going a bit damp eyed but it was beautiful to watch this gentle man hold our new puppy. Already LJ can hardly contain himself when Big Jeff comes visiting.

I have always been a firm believer that dogs are sent to you, and despite our decision to not look until the Spring, Little Jeff joined us on January 24th 2020  a few months ahead of schedule. Once through the threshold we expected some anxiety about this new strange environment – but in true Little Jeff style he hit the ground running and didn’t look back! – He just landed and that as they say, was that. With one of the wettest winters I can remember, taking an 8 week old puppy out for a wee at 5.20am in the wind and rain was not a delightful experience but we continue to get through it.

Hopefully our new boy will join us on lots of new adventures and will be featuring in numerous  photographs! He is already developing his best side and practising his posing!

Thank you for visiting my website

November 18, 2018 by Jacqueline Rackham Leave a Comment

I hope it shows just how much of a passion I have for all things nature and wildlife with a few humans thrown into the mix. One day without picking up my camera is a bad day indeed (just ask my husband!). I am accompanied every day by my little four legged boy; who over the years has developed his magnificent posing skills, patience and stalking abilities. There was a time not too long ago when deer stalking was utterly impossible with him stomping and charging about leading the way, flushing a rabbit after I had been tip toe-ing for half and hour to get close to a deer for him to scatter them! Today he has learnt to tip toe with me… its quite a sight if you ever do discover us somewhere deep in the woods!
